Hello all,

I have just booked the Premier Inn in Dover 26th Sept Fri, Seafrance Sat 27th 7.00am and return 5th October Sun 2.15pm, the Holiday Inn Dijon 27th Sept.

However the Holiday Inn Express, Reims is fully booked for Sat 4th Oct.  I have been onto the Accor Hotels website and found a few others in Reims I was wondering whether anybody could recommend one - the IBIS in the city centre seems unbelievably cheap (48 euros per room, per night!!!)

Thanks

Claire

Hi Claire
If I remember correctly the IBIS chain is a more basic hotel within the Accor chain but if you intend to stay close to the city centre I have always found the underground car park secure overnight and there is quite an atmosphere in Reims on a Saturday night. I will look up the name of the road that the car park is in and make another post.

Visit the michelin map web site and select Reims map. Keep enlarging and look for Place D-Erlon (I think the car park is called Erlon and is a right turn from Rue D'Eclerc). The hotels in Rue/place D'Erlon (Lots of restaurants) and Rue de Buirette are quite good value even if they do not have a car park. You only need room rate as there are lots of eating places for dinner and breakfast.

Thanks Cliff for the info,

The IBIS hotel I have found is 28, Boulevard Joffre is this the hotel that is close to the car park in Place D'Erlon?? - The hotel's website makes mention of "public car parking" I don't know whether it means that one.

Thanks

Claire

Boulevard Joffre is the other side of a big one way system with an open car parking are in central area, if hotels are booked it is possible that they have a city event going on; check out Reims Tourist info. Look at the Michelin map and below B. Joffre is Boulevard Foch and below that is the Erlon car park. I'm going to the IMM with Rog so will give him detailed map and directions to underground car park.

Thanks Cliff,

If the IBIS open car park is full, would you say the underground one in Erlon is easy walking distance?

Thanks

The IBIS is on same side of Boulevard as the Station and the Erlon road / car park is on other side of boulevard; no more than say 100 yards
