Taffy !! :P

Didn't think you could April fool after midday ! :D

Actually I think BMW could maybe use some of the old BL advertising too with a twist, how about....    "MINI - massive on the outside.. not enough room to swing a cat on the inside !"     It's a work in progress...:P

....."in Europe the Metro is held in high regard":D:D:D!!!

Is that where they all went?  Soon after the Metro came out I thought about buying one (I worked for a BL garage).  Even the manager said I must be mad and should buy a Fiesta instead!

Having said that, I can see some nostalgic appeal in finding a really good early MG Metro - if such a car still exists....

That has got nothing to do with me LOL. I did think it was serious for about 2 seconds though.

Anyway yes an MG Metro would be great to own, because then you can rip the engine out and use it for a Mini restoration/upgrade etc, etc.

I think that is where most of them have gone already Taffy:?!  Not that the engines were always that great.  I recall several MG Metros, including my wife's,  which broke crankshafts at 20,000 - 30,000 miles:(.

Well I've got a similar engine in my Mainstream Mini Cooper and touch wood it's still going strong at 97,000 miles.

When i worked for minimail it always amazed me when the local scrappy would bring in about 30 metro engines on a trailer this happens quite a few times and most went to the states hard to believe the rate they must have been killing them as they were all 1300
