Here's one for you Norton, apparently with an 1100 automatic engine - what a tuning prospect :D

Nice!:D

"The car only has only one front wing although these dont cost the earth."

I think the front wing is really the least of this cars problems....!:D

"Car was set up on a jig and professionally cut and rewelded together using square tubed steel pipe throught the car"

Errr... no... I think we need to leave the word "professionally" out of this sentence :D

A botched project that will be in a scrapyard somewhere in Manchester before the week is out  I suspect! :D

Well the steel tube will increase it's value in that case :D

Ironically, there's a recycling wheelie bin in a couple of the pictures :P

It's a great phrase isn't it  "most of the hard work is done"......   often to be found within the descriptions of unfinished projects which aren't worth finishing!:(.

Personally, I would doubt it.:D.

The yellow one has to be the better buy of the 2 for anyone who MUST have one.  And I suppose it would be cheap fun in a way:?.  I'm not sure it would be so cheap to insure if his insurer had actually seen it:shock:.   I'll stick to my Mazda MX5 for my own cheap fun for now.  It all depends on what you want and what you need I suppose.

I would think the low mileage would be genuine.  After all,  how many times could you be seen out in a car like that?:D.

Just had another look at it:shock:.  The detailing leaves a bit to be desired doesn't it, although, to be fair it isn't VERY expensive.  Look at those seat covers - makes Newton ones seem truly excellent!

Nice LHD Cooper 'S' scam in the ebay classifieds today too.

It must have been 'created' for a customer who didn't appreciate the finer qualities of the styling, hence why it's on eBay

I saw these earlier on this evening.  This seller has had a lot of desirable Mk1 stuff in recent weeks - if he can get these prices he'll make more money selling the bits than completing his project car!  I know we all have to pay some high prices for genuine bits now but....

I've had one bit of good news today - I've found a (secondhand) driver's door for my Mk1 at last - a "buy-it-now" on ebay this morning claimed to be completely rust free!  We'll see!  Heritage ones are about £350 I think.  For some reason there seem to be plenty of secondhand passenger doors, not many drivers side.  Been looking for ages.

Hi Richard,

That's good news on the door then. Drivers one's have always seemed to be more difficult to get hold of, even years ago when Mini's were plentiful in scrapyards. Let's hope it's as good as it sounds.

How's the post-flood clear up going?

Yes - "as we are a  Rolls Royce and Ferrari dealership the last 2 services we have undertaken"  er, yes, that makes complete sense.  Bound to have masses of MINI experience:D.  Didn't know much about Mk2 Coopers though did he....

Flood clear up very slow progress thanks Andrew.  Insurance Company little more than useless - lots of promises on the telephone but not much action so far...   I've still had almost no time to work on my 'S' but hope to do a bit in a few weeks.  Fingers crossed that this door is as good as promised:)
