An interesting car. The side seam to roof gutter detail rang a bell, and I found another in a past issue of Miniworld. (Nov 2006, p.36 - Orange Clubman estate with black roof on cover)
This one was Mk III style, with burstproof doors and windup windows, internal hinges. Based in Colombia (and written off in an accident). Looking carefully at the photo, the bonnet detail under the Mk II trim is curved, the same as the eBay car. So the moulds may have survived.
I may be able to scan a copy in over the weekend when at my Father's.
Will also add that one to the "For Sale" list in the next day or so, currently there is a question there so will leave it for now.

Seem to recall the Miniworld car was a later, '90's, Venezeulan Mini Cord. Info here: http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/altpics/cord/index.html
Presume this is one of the original Pressed Steel Fisher cars.

Yes, the Miniworld car appears to be a Mini Cord. Same wheelarch detail, and the seams continue fully down the sides of the car. (eBay car the seams only cover the windows)
The site above mentions fibreglass production in Venezuela (Mini Cord), Uruguay (Clubman type), and Chile (same as the eBay car). The picture for the Chile car may even be the one on eBay?
They look a little similar to the aluminium lightweight GRX 311D built for the Circuit of Ireland in 1969.
If production was to restart, isn't the basic shape still copyright? (Not "copy right") - Initially by Rover, now owned by BMW?

Only "slightly"! I'm reasonably able when it comes to bodywork but I don't think I would describe that as "slight". Having said that, it looks a decent project although a shame about the colour......and the previous colour too!
My "S" was damaged in the same area when I bought it - the previous owner having reversed into his dustbin with the door open . It had been repaired once but mostly with filler....I gave up trying to find a really good driver's door and bought a Heritage one in the end.
Let's hope that whoever repairs it doesn't use the "A" panels supplied as the chances of doing a really good job with them really is "slight" .
Even Mk1 850s are going for fair money now so a car like that is a worthwhile DIY project provided the reserve is not TOO high.

The title caught my eye for some reason on this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1981-AUSTIN-MORRIS-MINI-TOPLESS-BLUE_W0QQitemZ280241919386QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280241919386&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C65%3A10&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
And it's a 'real head turner'.
Being 'topless', I'm not surprised

Yes, it's easy to have your head turned by anything "topless" isn't it Andrew .
Seriously though, in the English climate, I doubt you'd get £5,000 worth of use out of such a car.....I enjoy a convertible but always know it'll only be a matter of time before I have to put the hood up again. And mine isn't as exposed as that Mini!

The picture inside the boot on this ebay listing shows the most interesting rust repairs I've seen for years:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1973-AUSTIN-MINI-CLUBMAN-RED-VERY-ORIGINAL-CAR_W0QQitemZ160256831071
I'm afraid it prompted me to ask a question, which I hope is taken in good spirit:
"Hi. Hope you don't mind me asking, but as I tend to spend quite a lot of money on welding machines, metal and gas and stuff when restoring my Minis I am rather interested in the idea of using shaving foam and gaffer tape instead.
Do you use any particular brands - I guess Gillette and Duck would give the best results? If you'd like to swap ideas I can send you details of my method of remetalling main bearings with Jarlsberg and KY jelly, in exchange.
Thanks,
Heath Robinson."

Hope he doesn't react in the same way as the Harvest Gold Mk3 S seller did when Norton asked a seemingly innocent question

That's not funny. You may not like what was on offer but I don't think it does you any credit to take the p**s like that.

I have to confess that I have always had a hankering for a convertible mini. Just seems like it would be a load of fun.
It would have to have the correct number plate though.
