| That starting bid has got to be a mistake. £200 maybe. Slip of the finger on the keyboard ?

Its a head turner as well!
It is unusual and looks good - could even be used to earn a few quid.
Even more up your street Norton. AS THE ADVERT IS IN CAPITALS

I love that ice-cream van and I'd happily buy ice cream from the vendor if it ever appeared here or at a Mini Show. But since it's located in Newcastle, it could be used as a feature in a "Get Carter" type of tourist attraction. Yes buy an ice cream from a classic mini ice cream van and then see the famous bridges, locations and that massive multi-storey car park in Gateshead.
Well I'd enjoy it anyway!

Like I said in a thread concerning my e-Bay items, this particular item and Sophie Davies are a complete hoax.
She or whoever it is asked for a buy it now price for my classic Mini oval surround pod, to which I obliqued even though I had my suspicions and it looks like I was right after all?
Well prior to yesterday she had no history or feedback and then all of a sudden item number:- 140140895941 appears, even though it ended on the 29th July.
Plus the item number isn't showing against the actual sellers account and I find it hard to believe that she won the speedometer without anyone else making a bid!
Anyway I've blocked her from making any bids against my account, but it's sickening that there are so many unpleasant people around. Last edited on Saturday August 4th, 2007 11:33 am by taffy1967 |

It does seem rather suspicious that a 90mph speedo would only attract one £5 bid....
Regarding the feedback, the feedback will only show up on the buyers account when the seller decides to leave feedback. Also, the feedback only shows on the sellers account when the buyer decides to leave feedback.
Its quite normal for a few days to elapse between the sale and the feedback appearing, as buyer and seller have to wait for the payment to clear, postage delay etc... some sellers don't leave feedback until the buyer confirms they are happy with the goods.
Its not good that someone asked you to end the auction early and then not pay you..... I normally refuse these sort of requests, as they are normally made by chancers that think you don't know what the item is worth, and they try to get it for well under market value.
Ebay can be a pain, but on balance its a great invention!
I wish you better luck with future listings - don't let the minority put you off! Most people out there are good to deal with believe it or not!

Thanks Norton and Andrew1967 also confirmed that it sounds genuine, but like I said I'm certain that I heard a scam or hoax warning recently on another Mini forum concerning that dodgy website that she's passing off as her fathers business.

Hmm - odd car... a 62 mini in a MK2 shell.... Trying to work out what engine that is... He says it 1100cc - an overbored 1000?
I suppose he's not making any outrageous claims about it, and is asking a reasonable price. Not sure what makes it a "Cooper S spec engine" though......
ANOTHER EBAY SELLER THAT STILL HASN'T WORKED OUT THE CAPS LOCK KEY YET!

Looks like it should have once belonged to Lady Penelope to me ! And, no, I haven't been down the pub, Pete !!
Saw a Mini at the BMC Spares Day today that had what looked like a 1950's Ford 100E grille fitted to it Luckily for everyone here, I didn't take a picture of it. I'm sure it could have qualified for dash of the week as well but I didn't get close enough to it in case I was spotted

Here's a good one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ULTIMATE-MINI-COOPER-S-RACING-CAR_W0QQitemZ230159845758QQihZ013QQcategoryZ43123QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Ok... an interesting car... but why the "cooper S" reference?
Its very unusual though.... an all steel body shell (apart from the Fibreglass boot lid and the carbon fibre bonnet he later mentions)
Lightweight STEEL doors too..... that will make a considerable weight saving on the standard ones made form the standard material.
Amazing.... I wish my cars bodyshell was made of steel.... If only they'd made them that way in the factory.....
I would like to have a go in his car though.... looks like a lot of fun!

| Would guess that the 184 number is a bit exaggerated though
