As we haven't got a section for Cooper items of interest I thought I'd post this here

Hi
For the purists obviously a No No but any one with the newer mini’s I think quite a good idea depending on quality, but what about static discharge? ( NYLON )

Andrew, I've tried reading the description of the Rover Mini project...... can you provide a translation for those of us who don't understand such modern language? !

Sorry Richard, I think we need the next generation down even from me
If the car is driveable why not include a picture of the engine with the carbs on
Very professional paint job done on the caliper

Looks an interesting idea but I am left wondering why they don't insert the fuel outlet pipe into place before sale.
Only thing I can think is that the place where it should go is at an angle and the outlet would point down towards the boot floor, unless it's a specially angled 'spike'
If it works it would look a lot better than some of the horrible homemade metal tanks that float around eBay.

Nice idea but it would be interesting to know the insurance industries take on it. Even the big boys have had problems with cracking plastic tanks, check out Landrover's recall on Range Rover Classics and Discoverys; and an unprotected plastic tank on the offside rear corner may raise some eyebrows. At least a metal tank will deform and hopefully hold its contents, I suspect this may just drop its contents on the top of the battery.

Very good points made there Dave.
My modern Peugeot's have 'plastic' fuel tanks but they're both diesels - not sure if the petrol models have plastic or steel tanks. Main thing is that they would not deposit their contents on top of the battery if damaged but instead on the road causing a skating rink for other road users

| Andrew, don't know about todays but even in '84 my Peugeot 205's tank was in front of the rear axle line. Not 1/2 inch off the rear panelwork. The split tank on the Range Rover was 12-18 inches in front of the rear bumper and sat between 2, 5*2 inch steel girders.

| Certainly on my 306 the tank is in front of the rear axle. There's not a lot to protect a Mini fuel tank is there?

18G 685.
It is just a tecalemit high pressure grease gun you could use any, with the appropiate adaptor.
You obviously do not use grease
