Hi all, and apologies if ive posted this in the wrong area.
im after a bit of help for a friend if possible. He has just had a new engine put in his 1300 mini cooper, and everything runs as sweet as a nut, until you pull to a halt, at which time the engine stalls.
Just wondering if anyone knows what it might be and how to rectify.
would take it straight back but its a 100 mile round trip, we cant get hold of the garage now and he really wants to get out in it in the sunshine.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

| Sounds very similar to a problem I had last year on my 1994 M SPi. Try the vacuum pipe between the inlet manifold and the ECU. Sometimes the rubber connection between the thin plastic pipe and the metal of the inlet manifold splits leading to poor idle. Can also happen at the ECU end. You will have to take the air box off to make it easier to reach.
