| Bargain, I just wish I had that amount of money to buy it. I don't think I'd want to use it and add anything to the mileage though, that way it'll probably be worth double that figure in another decade or so?

So if that (now withdrawn) car was worth £11,000.00, anyone care to guess at what I might get for mine .....
1998 Cooper S-Works, 47,000 miles, MOT till May '08, was originally S5 WKS when owned by Mr Cooper ....

I've owned it since 1999, it has a full service history, had recent gearbox re-build, now fitted with 5 speed straight cut Jack Knight box.

Full leather interior, was Cooper Garages demonstrator, so when new list price with all the fitted extras was £18,000.00

Any help would be great.

GTR, can I be cheeky and ask how much your gearbox was? Was it on the car when you bought it or have you had it re-built as a 5 speed? Is the noise acceptable being straight cut (I know they sound great but my car is a daily driver and I use it for long distance when the opportunity arises)?
Nice car by the way, and a little bit of Mini history!

Hi Graham
The car came with the 5-Speed box, it was just re-built when an idle gear broke, and Mr Jack Knight only had the straight cut gears in stock (plus they are supposed to be stronger) The noise is sort of bearable around town, but give up any thought of playing the radio at motorway speeds
As for the cost, the re-build, and MOT and a tyre cost around £3,400 !
Mind you, it goes superbly now though.
