Posted in wrong section first, sorry about that!
Anyhow, seeing a few threads on here as to owners past Mini's, I wonder if mine is still out there. Its not registered on the DVLA's web site, and I believe it went to Ireland, so could anybody have an idea of whether its still around?
Original spec, built for me by my (then) local dealer Cheshunt Motors.
H731CBH. Rover Mini Racing.
Originally had a John Cooper Conversion fitted,
10" wheel conversion, Reverse steel wheels, Yokohama tyres, twin tanks, Koni's all round, adjusta ride suspension, Rear cage, sump guard & finished in red with black roof. Then after a year the engine was overbored to give 1022cc and larger SU's fitted. RC40 exhaust was installed with improved LCB, halogen lights no spot lights but it did have a Lucas reverse light fitted.
We did the first Italian Job in it, but due to no work in the early 90's it was sold.
Any pointers would be good, I still have John Cooper Conversion Certificate and handbook wallet etc for some reason.
Cheers all

Maybe contacting the DVLA would help prove if it's been sent to Ireland? Mind you i've sent an ordinary query by e-mail and post and not had any replies yet.
Anyway i'm sure the current owner would love to have the original John Cooper Conversion Certificate and handbook wallet.

But if it was red in colour, then it would have been a Mini Flame Red Limited Edition that got the Cooper conversion?
If it was a Mini Racing, then that was the Racing Green Limited Edition, launched at the same time and in early 1990 (the second production batch of these models, they were also produced in 1989, but without alloy wheels or 3.44FD) they were joined by the Mini Check Mate Limited Edition which was black, but they all came with white roofs from the factory.
I have heard that the logbooks used to state they were Racing/Flame/Checkmate or similar as it seems the dealers couldn't be bothered to distinguish them when they were first registered.
So perhaps your having troble getting information from the DVLA because your asking for the wrong model? But I'm sure they'd be able to help if they have the registration number anyway?

you're right there Taff. It was a Mini Flame, and it did have racing/flame on the logbook.
It was red with a white roof originally, but I had that painted black in a more traditional look of red with a black roof.
I've searched using the reg number but comes up blank, so I expect its been re-registered or has been stripped of the extras on it & scrapped!

| It'll be a shame if it has been stripped as their very special cars, you never know perhaps it's off the road and awaiting restoration or something?
