I was wondering if there is a region for south wales, and if not if there is anyone interested in joining if there was one. There must be like minded mini enthusiasts near me (Monmouthshire)!!

Well, there's Taffy1967 and Hailthegreatman for starters. Click on 'Members' and scroll down through them all, as there may well be others with their locations listed. Me, I'm from South Wales but am up in Norfolk. All the best, Richard. :)

There used to be a meeting in S. Wales a couple of years ago, but due to lack of interest from members in the area it folded. Shame as I think there are a few people on this forum from that locality who are quite active.

Have you thought of starting up a local meet?

I would love to set up a local meet how do I go about doing it. I live near Abbergavenny and there are lots of great pubs  and ive seen some fantastic cars in the area. I wonder if any of them are MCR members as i have been told of quite a few and was hoping that some may get in contact via this forum, that way I could guage interest.

Hi Barry,

Given that David Hurlbatt's Hereford and Gloucester Region is relatively close to you there in Raglan, it might be better to have your meeting point a little further to the west, e.g. Usk, Caerleon, Cwmbran or somewhere closer to the M4 corridor where members would find it relatively easy to get to.

Good luck and dont give up, there are a fair few MCR members in S.Wales they just need a bit of a wake up call!!

Cheers,

Niall.

I last attended 'Gwent Mini Club' in approx 1989. there were about 20 minis at each meet which took place at the Wentloog Hotel - Castleton.
I had a letter approx 2-3 years ago from one of the club admins, he was looking for some interest with a view to restarting the club. I was not interested at the time, so do not know if it did get going again? :?
I would be interested in meeting up now
:)

I was a member back then, but it all fizzled out by the mid 1990's.

I wonder who tried to contact you?

Right well that letter came from me then, but I sent out letters to all the old members to let them know that the club was still going (and to try and swell numbers) way back in 1994!

 :D

I wouldn't myself sorry, because the price of petrol now means I don't tend to travel that far for such a meeting.

There's also Newport Mini Club and M4Minis in the area, so I don't know if another Mini club would have any success?

Well hello Darryl.

I can't believe I got the time line SOOO wrong! but yes thinking about it, I moved in 1996 and my parents also moved on a few months later, so it must have been before then, there is no way the letter could have got to me otherwise?
