Hi Folks,

After having spent a childhood listening to my dad bemoan the day he sold his 997 and then 1071 S i've finally decided to bite the bullet and get one of my own.I'll be in a position to purchase one of the above (I already know I can't afford an 'S'!!) in late June/ early July so thought i'd put the feelers out now...

Right basically i'm after a car that is on the road but that I can subject to a 'rolling' restoration over a couple of years. In an ideal world i'd end up with a MK1 but being realistic i'd be happy with a MK2.

If anone has or knows of one of the above i'd sincerely appreciate a message on here and hopefully come mid July I can be the proud owner of a Cooper at last!!:D

Cheers,

Bryn

Hi Bryn, I've got a Mk 2 Cooper which I'm contemplating selling as I don't use it enough anymore. Just passed its MOT. Its fairly original except for some aluminium arches and new brake and clutch master cylinders which are the plastic type ones. It has matching numbers to the paperwork, but it will need some work to the footwells soonish. Where abouts in the country are you? I'm based in Warwickshire.

Cheers, Lee.

There's not many about at all, and when they do surface they can be very pricey ! This one looked interesting, might be worth contacting the seller...

Good to see a honest discription with nothing to hide for a change. Looks a worthwhile project.

Yes watching that cheers guys, have asked for more pictures but don't like the 'it's advertised elsewhere but I won't say were'!!

Also had a few leads to private sales off here so hopefully fixed up soon, I am however struggling with the bizarre prices being paid though as they are literally all over the place!!LOL:D

That phrase tends to be used as a get out clause if bidding does not go as high as wanted I expect.

There are some ridiculously high price tags attached to several cars on sale at the moment, doesn't mean they'll get the money, and most will hang around for quite a while till the seller actually wants to get rid of it ! ;)

I've just found a Mk1 S (no not my Surf one)  that's never been welded or painted, with everything in tact and original not needing anything other than a polish for half the price of some restored cars I've seen.

Fantastic:D It really is something when the only downer is a couple of drill holes in the front bumper. Some would give it a total resto, but I think that would loose a lot of the cars charm, enjoy, and any under bonnet shots....please:) Gray

One thing I've noticed is the wipers park on the opposite side to other Mk1's. Is this because it's a LHD car?

Not finding fault, just curious as never really studied LHD cars much :)
