Hey  - I am brand new to the board.

I am currently building a mini to 1963 spec for the Targa Newfoundland rally in September.   Our build consists of a 1430cc sprint engine, 7 port head, full race suspension and so on.   I also elected to build a flip front - which has created some contention with the targa committee.   They would like to know when these came into use.

If anyone out there has knowledge of early flip front use, have reference info, or even photos of early cars then that information would be tremendously appreciated.

Thanks

That's a tricky one because i don't think they were ever a homologated part.

My Cooper S had a clubman flip front fitted in 1975, and it was a home made one by all accounts.
