Roll on 29 March!!
This is gonna be my first MCR event, so I'm looking forward to put faces to names.
Having never done a rally before, what should I expect?

Only a week to go!! Good times.
Having received the final instructions and had a good read, I'm slightly worried.
I've never done a Rally (of any description) before and I was if anyone would be able to give some advice/pointers.
Cheers

Saw Graham Robinson and Richard Norris at Race Retro and got very disappointed that I decided not to make the trip North.
Best wishes to all the competitors and Oz, - my advice - Don't panic and enjoy.
Good luck Niall and thank your helpers for creating a popular event.

'I've never done a Rally (of any description) before and I was if anyone would be able to give some advice/pointers.'
My best advice would be>>>>
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T FOLLOW ME - I'LL MOST PROBABLY BE LOST!!!!
Alan
See you there!!

Niall and everybody involved in setting up and running the Rally,
Just wanted to thank you all for organising such a great event.
It’s fair to say that we didn't do too well. In fact, once we’d left the pub we turned right on the main road when we should have turned left! Think that set the standard for the rest of the event. Made it to TC1 and things went bit pear shaped after that. Really enjoyed driving around the roads, much better condition than the road in my area.
But it was a great experience, which we can't wait to repeat (hopefully with a better result!!
So once again, big thanks to you, your marshals and everyone else.
Cheers

Big thanks to Niall for organising a great event - a lot of hard work went into this and it showed. Thanks also to all the marshalls who braved some pretty nasty weather and gave a lot of friendly advice to two novices in the pub afterwards.
My brain still hurts from driving the route with my super-navigator missus, but I can't wait for the next one!!
Cheers Niall!!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, i'm glad you enjoyed it and i shall pass on your kind comments to Dave Ross, my co-organiser, as well as to all the marshals, who did a sterling job on the night.
Hearty congratulations to Paul Metcalfe and Stuart Wright who ran out worthy winners by managing to find all the route checks, with only 11 minutes of lateness!
Well done also to first-timers Alan and Debra Vickers for being best Novice crew and securing a fantastic 3rd place in the overall standings - a great result for them both.
Definitive results for the remaining crews that took part in the event will be available shortly.
Cheers for now,
Niall.

Hi Niall, Chris and I would like to say a very BIG thanks for all your hard work on organising a truly brilliant event!! Please pass on a HUGE thanks to Dave Ross and all of the Marshall's!!!
Congratulation Paul & Stuart for a great win and also to Alan & Debs for winning the novice class.
We had a great time even if we had a few little moments once or twice. We are now look forward to taking part in our 2nd rally soon (hopefully in the MK1).
It was great meeting so many like-minded crews taking part and what a sight to see, a dozen Mini's at the start-line. As a native Gordie I would also like to say thanks to all that travelled some great distance to visit the Northeast. I hope you all enjoyed taken part!!
Lets hope this will be the first of many Northumberland Borders Rally and if so please put us down to enter again.
Once again Niall thanks very much for all the effort that everyone put in to make this event one not to be forgotten!!!!!!!!
Best regards
Jeff & Chris (car 11)

Niall
As the last Competition Secretary of the MCR I have enjoyed reading the very positive feedback. It is a shame Oz was unable to identify left from right; nerves I expect, it happens to us all. I hope that the encouragement you got from competitors and your band of helpers will encourage you to run an event next year. I for one will suggest that my wife revisits the area where she grew up; to give me some local knowledge as I know she had a great deal of experience in Minis as a teenager!!!!!!!!!!
