Is the MCR planning a presence at the following September event?

http://www.therallyshow.org/

I hasten to add that I am not volunteering and nor do I have the time to organise a club stand or the like

I may be interested as it's not that far from me.Unless I've misunderstood it though  the stipulation is that car clubs purchase ten weekend tickets @ £25 each which I think is a bit stiff compared to say the Oulton Park Gold Cup historic race weekend who give FREE passes to exhibitors, up to two dozen cars ,we get a full day's racing + Gp B rally car demo's thrown in as an extra.

Looks expensive but most organised events on site seem to be a similar price. Does however look as though clubs could end up paying over the odds -  presuming we're on pre booked tickets it's £210 for up to 5 cars plus £42 for each additional car. A very expensive weekend for anyone who has single occupancy in vehicle or can't make both days.

This appears to be yet another event which fails to realise how important car clubs and its core members are to the industry. The Endurance Rally idea is an attempt to reduce costs as we cannot all afford the high costs of competing in Stage events; I read recently that the Forestry Commission are to increase their costs.
I don't think this will be an event that the MCR will support with a display unless an organiser is identified and participants pay their way.

It is disappointing how most motorsport shows seem very expensive to get in or participate at - the Historic Motorsport Show (now called Race?) at Stoneleigh is another good example.

At least at Chatsworth you get a trundle around the stage but it is a bit pricey if you only want to go for one day.

i have just sent an email to the guy who is organising car club stand point out  that they seem tohave forgotten that car  clubs attending their event will be an attraction and will make  them money too  rather than just charge us silly amounts of money to make them money ,,,,and i also pointed out that why would  we bring a classic car and have the hassle of preparing a car and club stand  when for the same money you can turn up as a spectator and just have a good  look round,,,,

see what happens.....  damn shame  think it could be a  good  event

I get the feeling the clubs will be somewhat marginalised, out in a corner of the showground. This does happen to an extent at Oulton , and did at the old Coy's historic at Silverstone but at least it's free so worth the effort. I think the mistake the organisers make is that they assume classic car clubs are going to attend in droves anyway and so should pay full price. Wrong !

I went to the Historic motor sport show at Stonleigh last year, good show but total rip off even having to pay £5 parking in a muddy field miles from the show, they can keep it along with Mini in the Park. I have no problem with paying a fair price but when it comes nearly £20 to get in they must be putting lots of people off so they just make those who can afford pay more. However the traders who want people in buying are soon going to start being selective if they have fewer punters. Organisers take note one day you will be sorry, as we punters will be with no shows.

The Historic Motorsport Show is the only event I have been to @ Stoneleigh where you have to pay to park - motorsport fans are well and truly ripped off by the organisers. :X

I hear Mini In The Park is being held in a different venue this year, no doubt partly due to all the complaints and negative feedback they got last year?

Well in 2006 it was hellishly expensive if you had a family to get in. It must have been Cornburys biggest event of the year and they probably killed the goose that laid the golden egg.

I can't get very excited about Santa Pod as a venue though!

Stoneleigh historic motorsport show is £18 apparently this year in advance, plus £4 to park and a £1 booking fee.

I think Dunno is probably Jeff Williamson or at least his car.
