| I will be visiting this show for the first time. So, what can I expect and who will be there? Look forward to see you there!

I haven't been to this show myself but if it follows the usual format of the shows in this area of the country then you will have quite a few trade stands mostly stocking new go faster boy racer bits with just a couple of quality stands holding nos stock. An autojumble with mostly a load of junk hiding the odd find. Not many quality original cars to the concorse, then the usual goons who insist on dressing their cars up to look even worse than when they started!! I may give this one a go this time.

| Stanford Hall is usually one of the better shows of the year. Generally a good selection of stands selling older parts and reasonable cars in the concours - can be a bit pricey to get in though.

| I'd agree with Meister, tis one of the better shows but it does tend to be all the same cars at Mini shows nowadays with exactly the same cars in the concourse as the year before. Considering the entry fee, it's not a must see.

The entry fee is pretty fair if you make it a family day out, since they only charge per car and therefore I'd say that £10.00 is very reasonable.

Hi! We went, but as its a 260 mile return trip for us, and we had the family Labrador with us, and the weather forecast was a bit "iffy"we went in the Eurobox, which also has the benefit of aircon! Yes, I must be getting soft!
It was ok, and I bought a few bits, but after 2 hours we'd seen enough. The highlight was seeing a genuine "60's"Minisprint, can't be many of those around?
The autojumble was disappointing as usual, all the good stuff has migrated to E-bay!
Cheers, Dave.

I enjoyed the meeting. The weather was perfect and I was especially interested in the very nice Feb '61 basic Mini.
@Dave: Did you find the yellow Mini behind the white van of the radfordman?

It was a cracking day and the range of Minis on show was fantastic. I've uploaded a few pictures here: -

Love the Super !
Why have you blotted all the reg numbers out ? Most of those cars are all over the magazines !

Wrong Dave! I didn't - the taxi driver was busy. Spent the day at home recolouring leather panels for the W&P pre Minis to Ecosse. Was Nick trading?

Yes there were loads of stunning Minis there and I got into the habit of blotting out the registrations after someone had a go at me on another forum.
Plus I blot mine out now as per the instructions on the Mainstream Cooper Register that I'm a member and moderator on.
So I don't want to be a hypocrite and show everyone else's, whilst I hide my own.
I have still got the originals with all the numberplate information and it's a shame that we have to be careful like this now.

Do you mean this one with the glass washer bottle and rare early basic trim?: -

I've got quite a few more Minis in my link above.

Yes it was and it's not often that you see early seats of that kind at shows, let alone glass washer bottles.
It wasn't easy getting photo's because people were buzzing around it.

That car has only done about 4k miles from new and the seat covers are already a bit discoloured compared to a new one so it's no wonder that the basic trim is so rare these days.

Sorry to bring this up again, but after reading this thread on The Mini Forum, I'm glad that I do blot the numbers out now: -

Okay it still doesn't stop someone copying your number at a Mini Show ir as you drive past etc. But it stops the computer scum from getting at it via open forums like this.

Hmm. Interesting how the DVLA looks at this in the sense that they just hand out new documents - and eases potential fraude.
Here in the Netherlands, only the currently registered owner is able to obtain new documents and no one else. Such new documents slightly change the data registered for the car in the computers and invalidates any existing documents. The problem is if you really did buy a car from somebody but without the documents being properly transferred (maybe because they were lost in the past), the new owner basically has to prove that the car is his (for example by means of a legal contract signed by the currently registered owner). Just having documents but which don't state your data as it should be in the computers legally means that you do not own the car.
