Morning all, just logged into this section. Have been an enthusiastic mini owner for many years, although not being in possession of one for a few years due to kids.

I did have an extensively modified (by the dealer) Rover Cooper in 1990 and was a member of the MCR then.

However I have just bought a 1300 Innocenti that has sat in a garage for coming up to  20yrs. Its in red with a black roof, and is all there and in fair condition. It will become my wifes daily driver.

The car was imported into the UK when it was 3yrs old apparently, so am just tracing the history. Body appears good, although the tyres are flat and the clutch pedal refuses to move, brakes appear fine (pedal moves freely and doesn't plumet to the floor) although I have yet to run the engine.

So the question is how many are still around? What are spares like?

Cheers all.

Hi Andy,

Is your Inno on the road? any photo's.

Roughly what part of the country are you in, because if you are anywhere near Stanford Hall on the 10 Sept there will be a good collection of Inno's on display.

For part's it's between good old E'bay and the following link where Inno owners meet up  buy, sell and exchange parts and information related to anything Innocenti.

Regards Jon:)

Thanks for the link, I'll have a look soonish. I doubt it will be on the road on the 10th, having recently moved to Cambridge I've been told I have other things to do first! However saying that I don't think it will need much.

If I can, I'll try and get down to the venue on the 10th, be nice to see what it should look like. However saying that this car is remarkabley complete, even the interior is in good condition. As for pics, I have 2 scanned, but I'll get a few more to you.

Cheers Jon

Its a shame my old Mini isn't around, it was a good car, took quite a bit of abuse and daily use, got written off twice, but repaired to a better std than Rover managed in the first place (not hard I know!). I have been told it went to Ireland so it may have a plate change by now?

I'll try and get to the Hall anyhow, we've been fan of Mini's for years (we met by them?) so this will be a good kick start into ownership again.

I've also looked at that site you gave me, very good, how come it didn't come up on a search?

Have done so, and hopefully will be able attend the show.

I need to collect this Inno from the garage where its lain undisturbed for 20yrs, any idea on who I could use to tow/trailer home for me? I am in East Cambs and the car is based near Chelmsford.

Thanks

Sorry mate:( I live in Kent with no trailer or bar.

Hopefully someone more local reading your plea might help. I take it it's a non runner then does it need much to get going?

I don't believe it does.

The shell looks sound, the tyres are flat, interior is perfect, and paint is good. Its been in a well ventilated garage, one that fortunatley doesn't suffer from damp.

The engine hasn't been run for the past 3yrs, so a good soaking in oil will help, brakes are OK (albeit needing refreshing after all this time) but the clutch pedal is stuck, although it is out of gear.

Just need to get it home, I've recently moved hence why its still in a garage 25 miles from me!
