I'm going to be building a plastic Arii model of an Innocenti Cooper rally car and I was hoping to get information and pictures of the actual 1:1 vehicle.
As you can see, it's an Innocenti mini with Vaillant sponsorship logos. This IS a real company that apparently makes personal comfort things like heaters/conditioners and such. Visit http://www.vaillant.com if you're curious.
Anyhow, I would LOVE it if someone could give me information on it's history or pictures to base my model from. I can't find anything. The closest I came was a picture of a Porshe with Vaillant logos, and that doesn't help.
Thanks! See the picture!

The only rally Innocenti Mini Cooper model I can think of is the 1970's Polistil model.
In this months issue of Mini Magazine, they've done a buying guide feature on the Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300 Export.
So it'll be interesting to see if they've made any mistakes? They usually have done in the past.

Hmm, ok thanks. Maybe this one is made up? I just figured it was real because Vaillant is a real sponsor...
I contacted Vaillant USA but they said to contact Vaillant Germany, so at least I'm getting somewhere
I've never read mini magazine, i've only liked minis i'm not quite the enthusiast nor do I own one..but I would LOVE to. Sooo i bought this model, maybe someday I can have a fullsize one
So they will mention all the racing 1300's? Sorry if I refer to the innocenti oddly, i'm guessing innocenti is a company or person who modified minis? I need to read up on the history of minis i'm just learning details about them recently...

Innocenti was the Italian firm who built Minis and Mini Coopers under licence to BMC and British Leyland in the 1960's and 1970's.
It might also be worth asking the members on the 'International Mini Model Collectors' Club (IMMCC)': -
http://excoboard.com/exco/index.php?boardid=13326
Because their sure to have more information on the actual model and perhaps they'll know more about Vaillant?

He's going to have to register an account with ezboard and it's easier to reach the Specialist Innocenti Register forum from here: -

Thanks for all your help so far everyone!
I just wanted to post that I haven't had a lot of time on the computer and thus haven't posted or researched since my last post. I haven't stopped my search though. I'll probably search more tomorrow.
I frequent lots of forums and I know it's nice to hear that your advice wasn't a waste of time/effort...
I hadn't posted in a few days so i just wanted to drop that tidbit.
I'll be back. soon.
cheers!

Hi there
This model wasn't based on an actual car as far as I know.
LS and Imai both made models of this Innocenti Cooper, but thery are both rather "caricature" models with nothing being to the correct scale.
Taffy
Hi mate !
The buyers guide in Mini Magazine is better than the usual rubbish written in the past, as they contacted someone with some knowledge before writing the article.

Thanks Dave !
They did an Inno Cooper, an Austin Cooper and a Morris Cooper.
They are all re-branded models bought by bigger companies, but are still the old LS and Imai models.

Well considering they had only recently advertised the Mainstream Cooper Register in that magazine, they only had to ask for advice or check the site because it's all there for all to see.
I think that it was a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth and hopefully they've got their act together now?
Cheers.

Thanks for all the information everybody, and thanks for the links Taffy and Glen!
I spent some time posting on the boards you linked to me, and I actually had an ezboard account so that wasn't so bad
Thanks for the link to the 'brother' model Dave, I checked it out and it was already built so I didn't bid... lol. if it was new I might have, it would be cool to have two minis on my model shelf
Ginger - How exactly are these models inaccurate? I'm not experienced enough to see the inaccuracies, especially with an unbuilt model, but I would be interested in what's wrong with them. To me the model looks well equipped, but proportion correctness could be off. It will have to be built to truly see.

The model is fairly accurate in detail, but for some reason, both Imai and LS made their versions of the Mini in a rather caricature type of style.
The front wings slope too far down at the front and all other proportions seem out of scale.

so, my Arii model should be better? meh, on the other forum it seems LS has a very similar cartoonish cover. soo that doesnt seem to matter. I'm talking to you on two forums now Ginger, aren't I? haha...
do you have any pictures of built models? you're the first i've talked to that knows this much about them.
I have found some LS models on ebay, and oddly enough their box art is LESS cartoon like than my model, which is an Arii model. and it even says "identical scale" on it...lol.
but i hope you're right, i'd love this to be as accurate looking as possible. its ok if it's a little off, thats not a big deal to me as long as it looks cool.
