As I said on The Mini Forum: -
I bet it's off a Spanish (AUTHI) built Mini 1275GT, which strangely enough didn't come with a Clubman front end: -
Unless someone here knows different?
Strange how the Spanish Authi Mini Cooper doesn't have it's own register section on the MCR?

Few people in the UK know what an Authi is so the Authi Register would be very small - in the UK there are maybe half a dozen Authi Coopers.
I've never seen a badge like that on an Authi GT.

Thanks Mk 3 S Meister that makes sense and thinking about it there's no Australian Cooper S section either.
But TBH apart from those original sales brochures, I've never seen an Authi Mini 1275GT.

| I've seen a few Authi GTs but can't recall any nice standard ones at the IMM in 2005.

I think the jury is still out sparky, because Mk 3 S Meister isn't sure if the ones he's seen are standard and therefore their badges could have been removed.
So it still could have originated from an Authi Mini 1275GT.

I've seen some nice standard Authi GTs over the years but none have had this badge on them.
Are there no markings at all on the back of the badge?

That's a good point and I've asked on the International Mini Model Collectors Club forum to see if anyone there knows anything, because the forum creator is the same person who has the MiniPassionMini website (where I got those Authi Mini brochures from).
Anyway he (Miguel) has also asked if there's any markings on the back and he also said: -
That's weird badge!
It can't be asutralian as theyw ere called "Clubman GT"
I have a theory. Spain had the Mini 1275 GT earrlier models and the Mini GT later models. The ONLY "Mini GT" is from Authi.
1275 GTs had crome grille
Mini GT had black grille.
In 1973 they came out with the Mini Cooper 1300, wich was a copy to the Innocenti Cooper 1300.
It could be possible that:
A: They did a a badge to Match teh Cooper for the last models produced in 1973.
B. they made that badge as an aftermarket part to copy the Cooper 1300. This is quite possible, in my collection I have a cheap copy of a Cooper 1300 badge.
Does the badge has any writing at the back?

no markings on the back, i'll get a pic of the back of it tonight..
curious? Originally i jsut wanted to know as i'm having a clearout on ebay but i'm quite facinated now. Have contacted Gaydon to see if they can help.

| Taffy also raises an interesting point regarding the Australian cars. I have a 1966 1275S here in the UK and John Kelly knows of a few others. There are probably not many here and information on them is a bit 'thin' over here - there is little detailed info and no photos in John Parnells book...Anyone else got one??

Well I'd like to know more and see some images of the Aussie and Spanish Mini Coopers, because they are something of an enigma here?

| chille built them in the late sixtys,venezuelan cords were built later. just looking for possabilitys.I would think the badge is inno ,the Belgium assembly plant built minis into the late seventys ,maybe they had GT model towards the end of production.
