Hi,

Sorry if this is the dumbest question you have heard. I have searched the forum and cant find anything about heating.

I bought my first Mini today - 1997 Mini Cooper MPi Sportpack - I am very pleased with it and have just driven it 300 miles back home. The weather was aweful and cold - but the drive was awesome fun.

Unfortunately it was a little cold - do these cars actually have any heating as I cant find it if it has. It has a two speed fan which blows out cold air but not warm.

Please help!



Hi Sorry - Just read through the manual that I found on here and what I thought was a manual choke was in fact the heating control - boy is my face RED! (told you it was a stupid question - however will I recover from this :P )

well to be fair i guess it doesnt have the clearest icon on it.

On the MPi you pull it out for hot, push it in for cold. Rover have changed that a bit over the years, some earlier cars you seem to push it in for hot.

No you won't because we'll keep on reminding you LOL. :P

Manual choke on a multi-point injection car? I've got 2 knobs (yes I'm lucky) on my mainstream and I bet that would confuse some.

took me about 10 minutes to work that one out and i felt stupid having owned about 300 minis :)
