I'm just about to purchase a pair of Superfins for my Classic Mini Cooper(X reg) and wondered if anyone could confirm whether I need to buy a set of longer studs?

Can't answer your question z but is your car a Sportspack? These have different, longer wheel studs as standard because of the wheel spacers.

| Superfins will be a straight swap. They have the same spacer as your standard drum so you'll just change the drum or, if you have spacers fitted - Sportpack or JCG handling pack, change drum and refit spacers.

| I don't have a sports pack fitted so I've got the 4.5 inch wheels.

Superfins will be a direct swap for the standard drums on all 1984 on minis which had front disk brakes as standard.
So they'll be a straight swap for any MPi.
Make sure you use copper grease on the backs of the wheels though, as alloy will grow together far worse than alloy onto steel.

| if the car is old x you will need longer studs as they did not have the built in spacers .if its after 1985 then it should have the spacer and wont need studs i think the part number is enjo1040 but not sure

Well true, but you dont get Cooper's on ebay..... Only Cooper 'S', it's either 'rare' or 'cooper S'
I'm amazed at the number of people who buy second hand clutches and ive even seen used windscreen seals sell. I mean who fits a second hand clutch? A new or recon kit is only about £50.

Personally though if i was going to bodge a car for sale, i'd stick a cheap recon clutch in it, then at least you can show the new owner a receipt for the parts, which adds to the resale value.
Only a numpty would do all that work for the sake of a used clutch. I mean a mini clutch isnt exactly easy 5 min job to do.

But then it wouldn't be the, all important, 'original rare Cooper S'.
