hi just bought a 92 spi cooper and having some problems with the running of the car.
the car starts fist time but then tries to stall unless a few revs are given. once the car warms up it seems to hesitate on acceleration. and once you get to where your going the revs are at around 1500 rpm. also using alot of petrol!
I've checked the plugs and these where showing signs of the engine running to rich these have been changed along with the leads and a full service. I've also checked all the breather pipes and these are are clear and have no holes now. one of these pipes has been replaced, it was the one which connects to the metal pipework behind the rocker cover and leads to what i think is the fuel regulator on the right hand side of the engine bay.
has anyone got any more ideas on what the problem could be?

Sounds like another case of a broken MAP sensor pipe to the ECU.
Check the short section from the back of the inlet manifold to the vapour trap, (next to the clutch master cylinder), and from this to the ECU itself and also the one that goes from the back of the inlet manifold to the air filter flap control valve on the air filter casing.
The most likely place for a split or break is the short section on the back of the manifold as the elbows become brittle with heat and are prone to damage through the engine rocking about where careless owners dont replace worn engine stabiliser bushes.
If the pipes are damaged this needs rectifying quickly as the engine will run very rich and could damage the cat.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that will have a look later.
The engine stabiliser bushers were gone when i bought the car and had to travel back with them in this state.
also do you mean the small red pipe that connects to the underside of air filter box

| Yes, check the small red pipe as well, especially the elbow on the back of the manifold.
