On my spi the previous owner removed the 2 front spots, were they fog lights or spotlights?
On inspection of the wiring they all go up to a relay and then the wires continue within the main loom. at the dash end i can't find any wiring or connectors for a switch, so do the lights come on with either the rear fog light switch or the head light switch depending on which lights they should be. or am i missing a whole bunch of wires

| Standard lights were spotlights, wired to illuminate with main beam. No option to turn off. Fogs available as accessories, usually wired from sidelight feed so that headlights can be killed when in use. If fogs fitted they usually replace spots with spots relocated to new brackets nearer centreline.

I don't know if these will help, but they did appear in the club magazine back in 1997: -

thanks for all your help, that explains why a can't find a switch.
Out of interest on the last works minis when they fitted a lamp pod to the bonnet which had 2 fog and 2 long range spots what where the 2 lamps below, where they spots as well?
