Hi All,

Can someone tell me if it is possible, to trace the history of your vehicle?

I bought a 1992 Cooper 1.3i on Sunday and i am the fifth owner. I know the details for the previous two, but is there a way of finding out the first two?

Also, is there somewhere i can find out the original spec of the car both internal and external. At first look it seems to be fairly original and i think i would like to keep it that way, but just need to check.

Its a lovely car, but suffers as they all do at some time with the dreaded rust, so it is going to need some attention.

Any advice will be very much appreciated

Call the DVLA. They should be able do do a search and provide details. I think the fee is £5 but best to check.

Or how about the Hertige Centre? I know they don't provide certificates for any Mini made after 1969, but I think they can provide further details like the exact date of manufacture?

The legendary book "Original Mini Cooper & Cooper S - The Restorers Guide" gives all the facts, figures and images you'd want on Rover Coopers. Well up to 1992/93 models anyway which is when the book was first published and therefore will cover you're model too.

This might prove helpful: -

Thanks hanlminiman, i will get onto them

Taffy, i already spotted this spec sheet, you popped it into an earlier thread to help someone else with something. I already printed it off...i think its invaluable.

On a good note, you will be pleased that i got the cooper back from the workshop tonight! (if you recall my first post, it packed up on the way home from the purchasers house!)

It has a nic-nacked alternator.

Had a new one fitted and away we went...woo hoo

Thanks for the advice guys

Took my son for a spin in it tonight and was waved at by another mini driver....its good to be back in a mini!!!!!
