Good Afternoon

Just picked up my 1994 Rover Mini and was wondering what the stahdard BHP is for a 1.3 SPI? It might seem a daft question but thought I would come to the people that know!!

I think an ECU remapping cost about 200quid but unsure what BHP difference you can expect. Superchips might be able to answer that.

Both of you have a look at the recent postings under pics of my 95 spi with new wheels it should still be under recent postings.

Shaddy, with a new chip from superchips you are only looking at an increase of 5bhp, not really worth it seeing as other makes of car get huge claimed increases for not much more money.  If the engines coming out, fit a new cam, like the SW5i. Other easier mods like Head and highlift rockers make it a bit more revvy and better pull over 3500rpm, exhaust and air filter element make throttle response better.  My car has had all the above plus a little more, now 1293cc and still on original ecu.  Take claimed increases from companies with a pinch of salt, read previous postings as detailed above.

Barney, not many white and black cars left, especially late Spi's.  Any photos?  Shall be doing L2B on 20th May and possible Beaulieu in June, if work allows.

Mine is a Mainstream, not an Spi, but she is white and black. Tafffy has given me guidance on photobuckets (as my photos are too large), but I might try taking some at a lower quality level setting on my digital camera to see if they fall within the Forum parameters. Whilst I love the early 60's colours, I really do like the white/black combination on later models, even though white is regarded as 'no-no' in the motor trade. :)

cheers for that is the cam from swiftune type?

Got a few mods too do to the car just bought some group 'A' tie bars and arms along with a group 'A' spec oil cooler with remote oil filter and radiator all from the ST catalogue, also a cam belt kit so it would be a good time to fit a new cam as well, will the current head and rockers take the uprated cam or should i change these at the same time.

Cam is from swiftune, I should think the head and rockers would take the new cam, but don't quote me on that. Head and rockers is always something that can be done with out having to take the engine out so I don't see why you couldn't leave it for a while.  It depends on finances and what you want to do.
