just had the arches cut so i could fit my new 13"x5  minatours, rides not as bad as ive been led to belive.

however minisport muppets  fitted it with tyres that are a bit 2 wide :X so they stick out the arches a tiny bit. needs lowering at the back, can u fit hi los just on the rear?

Ben, looks well. As you've gone for 13*5's you should be able to happily run on 165/55r13's, however I don't think you'll source them through a mini specialist - they tend to stock the Sportpack standard 175/50r13, yours look like Yokohama a539s. Quick look shows 165/55 is available from Nankang at £35, or as a Pirelli P700Z at £51 both tyre only including VAT. Probably other brands available but these were first 2 that came up on search.

Hi-los can be fitted rear only but do you need them? Standard mini stance is slightly higher at the rear and reducing 'rear only' alters front suspension geometry. If you want to lower the rear on a no cost/more work basis you could physically shorten your existing trumpets. I seem to recall the rear ratio is 1:5 so 3mm off trumpet drops the car around 15mm.

Hi-los are nessecary if you're going to have large variation in load. Lowering rear won't cause problems with driver only but if you load the car up for holidays you may find you get regular rubbing on rear arches.

Looks good, personally, I think it looks much better than the usual sportspack/ superlite look, especially as the smaller arches have been kept.  I ran mine with just hi-los on the rear for a while, looked better with a slightly lower rear end, it didn't skip about so much on tight bends when it was being pushed hard.  It did sometimes rattle on a bumpy road.  Cured by replacing the rubber cones with new ones on the rear.  I now have hi-los on the front, and negative camber front and rear, and adjustable tie bars .  it goes round corners like its on rails now.  will try and find some pictures.

thanks for all the replies,  cutting the trumpets may be a better solution as the car is used daily at the moment but will shortly be taken off the road to become a project.

chillibean, love your car white is so rare on  90's minis!! although it doesnt look a whole lot lower i think it has a much better over all stance. and incidentley mine has the same seats with monaco trim?!?!? switch over to MPI maybe?

glad to see plenty of SPI owners on here
