Hello all,

I have a mk3 S with 1275GT rostyles on it and i want to change them,I have a set of Dunlop D1`s but when i tried them on they were too wide and would require wheel arches.I want some wheels with the correct offset so they dont require arches,i was thinking of the original optional 4.5 x 10 S rims but they are not about in decent condition for sensible money.I am now considering a set of new 4.5 x 10 minilite replicas but would like to know which ones fit and look the best,i have seen the new minilite companys version and a brand called minilife advertised but would appreciate some feedback/opinions and maybe even pics of minilites on a mk 3 S before i make a decision.

Thanks in advance

Paul.

Hi; Did you notice the set of 4.5J Cooper wheels in the for sale section? Seem a reasonable price to me if they are as described.... Esp considering I paid more than that just to have my set blasted and powder coated!

Good idea on the Minilights tho..They look the best in my opinion, and I believe the Minilife 4.5 examples will bolt straight on and are very nice indeed.

There is not a lot to choose between new (as opposed to old) Minilite and the latest Minilife wheels.

The wheels in the for sale section are LP918 reverse rims which will really require arches and look rubbish on an S.

Minilites look great on a Mk3

Minispares'  Minilife 41/2 x 10 , http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=37373  ,  one type is a replica of the original  proper Minilite , they also seem to produce another variety with a 'diamond cut' polished rim. These wheels do look right and are superb quality. It's rare to see used Minilife wheels for sale too !

The official Minilite wheel (http://www.minilitewheels.com/products.htm) will cost a bit more ( no prices on the website which is a tad annoying) and has the Minilite brand very visibly cast into the wheel ( also a tad irritating !)

All Dunlop D1's are the same (5x10) as far as I know but mine fit my 'S' OK ! (Borderline but definately ok) and I like 'em, and they're cheap !

I do know someone with a 1275 GT who would love your Rostyles  ;)

Not sure to be honest!

there's not a scratch on them & the A008 tyres have only covered around 60-70miles!

I've had a set of Minispares Minilife 4.5" alloys on my Mk2 Cooper since 1991 and they are still in lovely condition. Spats not required
