Just a quick.. er simple (?) question.

How good is Newton's MK II upholstery (seat upholstery I mean) in terms of fit and authenticity? I'm looking at buying some and the photos on Newton's web site don't show enough detail.

Cheers, Keith

Their Mk 2 trim is generally regarded as being a bit too smooth when closely compared to original BMC items.

I also think that the current Newton stuff is not right. It depends on what you are after though. If you need absolute perfection, it is hard work finding mk2 trim in good condition so the Newton stuff might be the only alternative.

I have a pair of early Newton replica recliners, and the vinyl on those is almost exactly right - maybe a little soft, but then I was never around to see what the mk2 trim looked like when it was new:D.

From the fit point of view, if the Mk2 trim fits the same as the Mk1 trim then it is a pretty good fit.

I didn't have any problems fitting the covers etc to my seats and I'm no expert at trimming.
