I am fitting my new boot floor, and will be fitting the boot board brackets soon. The originals are still good, but I have new ones from M-machine just in case. I also got a set of extra-high ones to allow the board to clear wide wheels, but I'm only planning on going to Minilites that will not require any arch extensions (i.e. 4½-5"×10). Anyone know if those, with 165s on them, will fit under the standard height board, or should I weld in the higher ones?

Thanks,
Roger

Roger,
Think this has been discussed on another thread. If memory serves right you will need the extra high ones as you will be using 165 section tyres on 4.5/5" rims.

I can't find any threads relating to this - does anyone know if the boot board brackets (and the two on the rear bulkhead) go in the same place for 1 tank as they do for 2? Or should the RH ones be repositioned to be symmetrical with the LH ones?

Thanks,

Roger

I'm not sure if Andrew1967 fitted these taller brackets on his 'S' type, worth a search on his postings, or a quick PM. :)

Hi!

I have 165/70 Yokos on 4 1/2" Minilites on my MK3 S. The boot board is a tight fit, but does slot in the "U" shaped brackets on the back of bulkhead. However, the rear of boot board does sit about 1/4" above rear rubber buffers. A bit of weight on boot board, e.g. tool kit, does make it touch! I can live with this, as its hardly noticable to a non Cooper S person, but can you?!!

Hope this helps your decision!

Regards,

Dave.
