Hi everyone,
I have take this photo in Essen last year. This is Timo Makinen car.
If anybody could tell me, that this is originaly Tartan Red and Old English White color.
I start to paint my car and it seemingly thath tartan red is to dark.

| Should be Tartan Red, the colour temperature of the over head lighting looks like it is giving the red a more orange colour.

That does look a bit bright but there are two Tartan Red's with, I think, the same paint code They were however used at different times.

I have just read in a old (june2007) mcr comic that JBL was bought by a third party on behalf of BMW how have now restored it as in your picture, the colour in the comic is a proper tartan colour before restoration. However having spent 14 years in the photo industry has taught me that you can print a picture to make it look whatever red you want within reason, also computer moniters all tend to see colour different ( just look at tv's in a showroom to get an idea) So in conclusion I would go for standard RD9 paint code and you won't be far wrong. JBL did have a mirror on the drivers side but the passenger one was added later!! Gray
