Quote: "Ok folks, I was wandering around some local scrapyards today when i came across a late MKII. I was really suprised to see it because it looks to be in really great shape! Naturally i enquired about it and the yard owner told me he is hesitant to break it because it has only had 1 owner from new! The doors, floors, subframe, battery box, boot floor etc are all solid! It has its original 10" wheels with chrome hubcaps and is still on cross ply tyres! It also has central clocks and a nice looking wooden dash with a glove box either side! The rear lights are the square type but have no reverse light. The aerial is mounted on the rear of the car. The engine etc is all complete. The bodywork is straight and solid but the front has been removed. The owner told me he still has the front, (although i dont understand why it was removed if it was worth holding on to!)

The car still has its original blue paint and is seriously worth saving, it would make an EASY project! Interior and headlining are still complete.

The scrappers was located in Aston, Birmingham near the 'Radio house' and old HP Sauce factory. I believe that it is called 'Auto Car Recycling' or something similar. It is next door to Taroni's.

Rocky Lane Trading Estate, William Henry Street, Birmingham.

I believe these are the right details, -
