Another option is to spray paint it with special vinyl paint.

Mine was discoloured, and the 'c' post liners were a totally different colour, so i just sprayed the lot - including sunvisors, and it all looks new.

I'm in New Zealand, but you should be able to get it from any automotive paint shop.

Ive had aerosols of it mixed up in the past, but this time they made it up in a tin, and I used a 'Preval' sprayer.

They had a whole lot of colours available and i just chose one that looked close, as all the bits were different colours anyway. the original headlining was virtually grey, and the Newton C post liners were yellow.

It needed 2 or 3 coats, and you have to be carefull not to be too heavy, otherwise the grain of the vinyl can get hidden.
Having said that, it looks awfull wet then dries and looks nice.

hi,

I don't know if this will be too late for you, but; my headlining on my Mk II was pretty grotty, so I tried a solution of water and sugar soap. I considered a lot of the discolouration may be due to fag smoke over the years. It came up quite well and the material didn't seem to suffer for the wash.

If spraying, Frost stock specific trim paint. Stock or custom colours in aerosol or tin: http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8152&frostProductName=Interior+Coat+%28400ml%29&catID=21&subCatID=&FrostCat=InteriorTrim&FrostSubcat=
