Cheers;
Just a shame they don't match the rear seats. Doubt I will use them.

Hi,
I actually looked at the Island blue car in question back last September when it failed to sell on ebay but decided against it. The car was owned by a friend of my late father who worked at the factory in Barnstaple where I did my apprenticeship (Mike Moule).
Prior to that it was owned in Bideford by a Mr George Hare (another aquantance of my late father). I remember the car in the mid to late eighties being used daily.
I can confirm the Cumulus Grey seats were in the car when I knew it. Incidentally a friend of mine had a very early MK2 in white/black that had red MK2 trim from new.
I own a MK2 built 4th Jan 1968. This has black trim however still has a hole in the boot floor as per the MK1 for the fuel tank drain although the tank has no drain plug. The hole has a genuine grommet fitted so I assume it to be correct. Also various other MK1 bits such as grease nipple shrouds, chrome handbrake and steering column bracket etc.

The exterior colour does not instill any confidence that the red interior is correct and original
No spare wheel clamp so must be post 02/68 build.

| A very pretty car! The registration date is a bit late to have a plain interior. Just because it has a red interior now doesn't mean it had one originally does it. The seller mentions having a Heritage Certificate - It would be interesting to read it.

Mk2 with Mk1 interior, may not be original as car has been restored...

| That doesn't look a particularly early Mk 2 so maybe the trim was the restorers preference.
