Oh yes - I remember it well ! My Mk2S was black inside and out (originally beige/white but paint everything black was the fashion in the 1970s) .

We used to own a very early green MK2 Cooper, the trim was MK2 style porcelain green, the same pattern as the island blue car featured earlier, the heritage cert' listed it as green.
Any of our USA members know of BMA 174F ?

try my factory black Mk2 with black seats - like opening an oven door sometimes
At least it is a comfortable oven with recliners

I wouldn't know about that Simon, but if you are offering a free 30 day trial of your recliners then yes please

I must say that on the face of it this looks a very proper car. As has been said, the seller is confused as the car pictured has a plain 'Super Deluxe' Mk2 interior which very possibly was fitted from new. Good looking car though.
...The heritage certificate lists the interior as Cumulus Grey and Grey/Gold built 18th September 1967 comission number 247 so a very early car.
John Parnell who wrote THE book saw the car at the recent Come Home to Downton show and was very interested as he had only heard of cars with this interior and not actually seen one, after a number of pictures it looks like he might be using it in his revised book.
I also owned a very early 1-owner 50k Island Blue Mk 2 which was acquired from the original owner back in the 90's. I've just checked back through my files and that car was built on the 13th September '67 and had a commission no. of 232. The Heritage Certificate lists the trim as 'Cumulus Grey' which the car had when I bought it.
At the time I wrote to John Parnell as I'd never seen anything like it before and he confirmed that yes, the plain trimmed cars were known to exist but were very rare indeed. Wish I'd hung on to it now...!

On a similar (but different) tack, I once saw a 1969 Mini Clubman in Snowberry white with red trim, slim Elf/Hornet door handles and interior door trim. The first Clubmans were built alongside Mark 11 cars so that would explain it - but I've never seen another like it.
I have seen an Aqua blue Morris Mini 1000 Mark 11 though. Good old BL!

Is that a whole car or just the interior? If a whole car, then I guess a Heritage search is the way forward as it should tell you the original spec.
There were only a few, very early Mk2s left the factory with coloured interiors. The vast majority were black.
Are the recliners you mention genuine 'S' ones?

Buyers beware.
Asked this guy to confirm if the Rh tank was genuine and the response was that he didn't know!
Sorry, but anyone in the business of Mini's knows as well as I do if a Rh tank is genuine or not and how important this fact is to value!
I smell a rat. Seats do look nice though.

| Sorry I thought we were talking about factory vinyl porcelain green ! There are some leather recliners known of (there are some photo's on other mini forums). My guess is they've come from Wood & Picket or another custom builder.

| They look like they have been retrimmed to match the back seat.

| Just whilst on the subject of reclining seats, I'm trying to decide on these which came in my Mk3 S? Can anyone help in Identifying them? Recovered at some stage of their lives I'm assuming. | Judging by the 'PULL' knob on the side they are from the mid 1970's onwards - but they still look quite nice with 30+ years of patina
