The one on the left is for a breather pipe from the petrol pump.

| That item is not an original BMC manifold and may not even be for a Cooper.

That's a Mk3.
You can tell by one side being cut off. Earlier ones are fully oval in shape.
I'm pretty sure that Mk2's were also full oval - it is on my Mk2 998 anyway.

| any idea why i have 2 neatly drilled holes in the left hand corner of ( right hand drive) of the toe panel. They are approx 3mm dia and 45mm apart. I know i didnt unbolt anything from those holes (although the car had been messed with before i had it. and not sure if i need to put the holes back into the new panel. would it be for the headlight dimmer switch for left hand drive cars?? I would say these holes were not there when the car was new,
The dip-switch was always in the middle.
some of my cars have 2 holes in the toeboard (not where yours are) that just have 2 screws to fill them up, i've no idea why they are there, but i have seen them on more than one car.

Here they are - 2 screws that do nothing.

I think the two holes in Ka2s4's picture are for moving the floor dipswitch over for LHD, otherwise you would have to take your foot off of the throttle to change the lights , they are in the floor of my MK1 tooLast edited on Monday May 12th, 2008 05:14 pm by mk1coopers |

| cut out the old inner and outer a panel 2day on the left side. under the old inner a panel is the end of the inner wheel arch which curles round and is spot welded to the door pillar. I have looked through the heritage book and tried to ring m-machine (they where engaged) and could not see a repair panel for this. anyone have any advice for this panel and also fitting of the inner panel with regard to all this. thanks dave
