Started nitromoorsing the fllor tunnel 2day. Gona leave he origional tunnel in and just cut the hole for the remote. Finished making the subframe jig so hopefully the subframes will be still square when i change the rear subframe panel and boot floor.
Heres my subframe jig. Has anyone else used this method before and any advice to come from that?

Found a mk1 passanger door on for a bargain of a £5.
There is no rust at all in the bottom and does not need skinning. The door looked rough where the previous guy has slapped on large amounts of fibreglass to cover up im not sure what but those looks are only skin deep
Even managed to get my girl freind to sit on the lawn and remove all the fibreglass. She must be getting the mini bug!!

No ideas. Looks rather rusty...
Regarding the remote hole. I previously used a paper template to properly cut a remote hole when reshelling a 1966 Cooper S. The paper template was created from another genuine Cooper S of about the same age. Positioning the paper template was just done by taking measurements for the location from the original car.

been reading the august edition of mcr mag tec topic on how to mount a right hand tank.
I may have missed something. Does anyone know dimentions D, E and F?
The clip in picture G. What does this look like and where is it positioned? how many are there on the line?
How was the bracket 21a1329 attached as standard? bolted or spot welded or other.
Thanks dave

| Should a mk1 have an ashtray riveted to the exhaust tunnel half way between the rear of the front seats and the subframe panel seeing as there is already the two ashtrays in the comp boxs?

| Mk 1 and Mk 2 Cooper and S models did not have the ashtray on the floor.

should this hole be in the front foot well? I have two more holes for grommets on the drivers side floor compared to the passangers side. The first is shown and the other exta one is on the next row of grommets. Are they extra or is the pas side missing a few holes.
The new floors i bought from m-machine do not have the extra holes

The floors bought from m-machine do not have those extra holes and look like the pas side.

Different floors seem to have different numbers of grommet holes.
There would probably have been a 'F' tag spot welded on both front floors

Hi Dave,
Here is my floor in my S. it is the original shell and floors, build date Oct '64
I have noticed this strange non-symmetrical hole placement in other S cars too.
No, the hole next to the gear lever is not for a push start,it was put there for a battery cut out switch.
