Other forums having failed, can anyone here identify, or explain, this speedo head?

It was fitted in my Mark 1 Austin when I bought it, in a Madadash and with the trip button set in the dash at about 5 o'clock.

It seems to work perfectly well, but I've never seen one before.

(And I know I need a new camera!)

Thanks,

Colin.

Looks like an early Cooper speedo. Does it have an SN number above the trip meter?

No, no number on the face.  It is the trip which confuses me - I wasn't aware that any Minis came with a trip on the speedo?

Speedos like this were available from Smiths. SN code usually starts with a 6 rather than a 4.

Good morning - You speedo is identical to the speedo in my 1964 austion cooper Mk1 . For info the serial number is located at the '11.00 oclock 'position just above the mileage . Regards Bruce
