| That cup holder is an interesting addition. Probably would not do you a lot of good in an accident!

I think the Guy must have been colour blind. But looking at the car thats the least of his problems. At least when we committed certain acts of poor taste we were quite young(ish). This Guy must being having a mid life crisis .
By the way, how did you get your tongue off .

this is slightly "off topic" but
the first time (dont ask) it was pretty easy as it was only a domestic fridge/freezer, a little warm water courtesy of my elder brother did the trick -- he was pretty surprised though
the second time was in the industrial freezer of Sainsbury's in Cromwell Road (London) when I was working during my year off -- very bad idea, and I wouldn,t be surprised if the top layer of my tongue it still "welded" to the dexion shelving!!!!!
i'll get me coat

Off topic again....
My business partners son was skiing and one of his mates got his tongue stuck to the bar on a chair lift . . . you know whats coming . . when the chair when around to return to the bottom he had no choice but to lose the top layer of his tongue. Boys will be boys !

Glen Ponder wrote: I think there's two seperate points here.
One, yep folk do tend to go for the boring bog standard 'as it left the factory' spec when restoring nowadays which as Meister points out leads to some very samey looking cars with little to differentiate them, or make them interesting. This is a reaction I reckon to all that modding that went on in the 80's, but as fashions change I'm sure this will come full circle eventually and maybe owners will start adding as many period extras as they can get their hands on, as they did in the 60's ! When owners had fun with their cars !
The other point mentioned is about not re-using original parts in favour of repro.I've seen perfectly good trim cobbed out in favour of Newton in the past ,even with those horrendous front and rear brocade shelf panels all because it wasn't 'perfect' .Well I suppose it's a good way of disposing of unwanted cash, and ridding your car of that unique 60's smell. Depends what you want really. Original trim can still be found in good nik, just takes a bit of effort. (and patience ! )
Afraid mine has to lose its patina inside, because at present it has an assortment of clubman and mayfair seats and is destined for rebirth as a Cooper. I've heard on the grapevine where there are a couple of red brocade seats, discarded when nearly new in favour of buckets, but I dont suppose the repro back seats from NC would match ? Steve.

Well, I've heard that a guy in Morecambe has been sitting (metaphorically of course) on these for years. No idea whether they are for sale, but will find out soon. Steve.

Was tempted to go and have a look at this one at the time as its only about 8 miles from my gaff, but the string pulls and lack of stainless steel door window trim put me off for starters . . . . and shame on me, I didn't even notice the white switch carrier!

Just to prove questionable cars are not limited to the UK or e-Bay, here is one on our own "TradeMe". Engine number is 44XXX and car number is 852XXX. I asked for the body number but it hasn't been supplied. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Mini/auction-74015097.htm

No, no vent pipe clips either. Note the regulator position, no S master cylinder, no closed breathing system, wog servo and probably many other details that are not shown in the very limited photos.
