| looks very nice , although the island blue paint looks abit strange on a 1071. The interior looks correct for island blue, but surely this combination wasn,t ever used on 1071,s as it replaced surf blue october 65. Its only an observation. Tim

I do remember seeing a very similar car on ebay before. I think it was for sale twice, with 2 different sellers - the second seller having a rather more optimistic description. I recall there was some debate here about it and that the car had undergone a colour change? If this is the same car perhaps it is a 3rd seller? It's not in the same part of the country is it?
The listing has "ended early".....

Expensive too for a 1963 Cooper seemingly lacking about 95% of its original parts !!

Cor!! Rare car for sure and as the seller says "recommend that you view"....
How original is it?? Very recent respray - possibly a bit too white? Wrong sliding window catches, later double skin bootlid, missing door window surrounds etc. When did the voltage control box change position? Who's going to carry on? I'm sure there's more but an interesting car all the same.

......wrong wheels, front number plate bracket, rear parcel shelf trim, missing screen pillar trims.....can't see the ashtray unfortunately .
On a positive note is does have some (rather scruffy) original Cooper seats AND it does have some boot board brackets....

Where's the servo? Wrong fan and radiator.
Wonder if the door cards are actually painted Brocade cards?
Could well be a genuine S though, albeit poorly restored and detailed
In a word - questionable

Due to position of voltage reg my money's on it being a 998 Cooper with 1071 lump. Intriguing though I agree.

That turned up at the MCR day @ Beaulieu last year on the back of a truck.
The seller wanted £11k and it was a complete pile of junk. The door cards were painted brocade and, believe it or not, it looked worse in the metal than in the pictures.

| Track at the front looks too narrow with reverse rims for it to be an S

11k.... I suppose that IF it's basically a genuine 'S' and you spent at least that much again on it, you MIGHT end up with a reasonable car with a bit of luck??

Hi guys,
I'm with the doubters here. The brake pedal looks to be the regular one too and there is very little I see that makes it likely to be an S.
Regards

Didn't sell at a smidgin under £5 grand. 1071's oddly (if it is of course) don't seem to fetch the big dollars on ebay. I suppose the top pucker cars change hands for obscene money by word of mouth or they get farmed out to Sussex sports cars !!
