Contrary to the above cobblers ,  any buyer will find his trousers will be pulled down good and proper by the taxman , if indeed the car exists! :P

The description for this item is completely different to anything else he has sold so I think we can be pretty certain it is a scam - but don't hold your breath for eBay to remove it.

Pictures have now been posted on the auction so it looks like it might exist. Wind up windows in Mk1 doors, presume it's not a genuine UK car then? (CKD possibly??)

Well thats just all over the place - not exactly what you would expect on a car with 980 miles from new (which is not what is shows on the odometer!).

Looks like an Aussie car with a UK chassis plate.

Got to agree with the Meister.  Very odd.  It certainly has the same doors and similar spec. to my Australian 1966 'S'.  However, the Aus cars had their own unique chassis numbers quite unlike UK ones, although they DID have UK engine numbers....Pictures don't show car with bootlid closed:  The Aus bootlid is also different...

OOOps!  I take back my previous comment regarding the bootlid, which appears to be an English one.  Also note that it is badged as an Austin though all Australian cars I believe are Morris. The front seats don't look standard to any Mk1 Mini.  The voltage control box is sited rather strangely:shock:.  Does anyone know if the Chassis/engine numbers remotely tally to a similar age?

Thats true, but to be fair, he does say the car is in Africa.....

It probably is, but does the real owner know that it's for sale on ebay.....

Looks like it is a South African built car - not sure if they used UK chassis numbers or not but they did use Aussie doors.

I learn something new every day:).  I didn't know there was an assembly plant in South Africa.  Perhaps we're safe to bid on it then:D.  Mind you, S.A.  assembly would do away with the seller's theory that no tax would be payable upon import to UK because it was built here in the first place.....Personally, I'll be giving it a miss.

Not sure if it's 'questionable', a few details wrong under the bonnet, thoughts and comments? :)

Reverse rims.

Conversion to dry suspension seems to be the most major alteration.

Engine bay needs a bit of attention to detail but generally looks a reasonable car. Interesting to see the solenoid pointing in the correct position :)

The servo looks to be back to front. The wheels also look like reverse rims although they don't appear to stick out much from the body. Difficult to see properly from the photos.

But the most important thing is that the ashtray is correct.

It would be interesting to find out why it wasn't registered for so long, agree about the wheels they dont look like they are far enough out of the body if they are on S running gear (photo's aren't the best), control box in the wrong place?, this might be why the servo is backwards, December 64' car should be Hydro as mentioned before ,wipers look like they park on the wrong side?, still as long as it get used and enjoyed  :)
