Now then for those wanting to know what those Cooper S solenoid brackets should look like, have a look at this page,a rogues gallery of engine bays, scroll down and there's a couple on there that are facing the right way, upward !

| That is a reversing light - they were a popular style a few years ago but I am not sure they date from the 1960's.

Now going back to this car,

It just shows how a nice photo on Ebay can be misleading. Have a look at these........
Those bootboard brackets look very 'fresh' !

Well yes , so it's just another reshell , or log book job, but @ £10K ? I don't think so.
What an odd place Ebay is when folk will bid without seeing the car first,( I had lots of bids on mine and not a single viewer !), Ho hum....

Don't suppose anyone saved the said pictures as I didn't get a chance to see them ! I presume they painted a different outlook on what looked like a nice S ?

Andrew, the pics showed the floors, rear bins, and boot compartment. The boot board brackets did look newly painted compared to the boot floor which looked like much older paint. The floors looked original so I presume it was a partial resto of a good 850 with a mix of 'S' bits. The Almond Green car does look good ( cept for the enormous lamp on the boot. )

Hi Glen,
Thanks for letting me know what the pics showed. Sounds a little suspicious and probably why bids were retracted.
The Green S does look pretty good and has good history by the sounds of it. It is only about 15 miles from where I live and yet I have never seen it before, even before it spent the last 10 years in the workshop. Have to agree with that lamp on the back.
Andrew
PS - had to use a 'quote' to reply as the 'reply' button won't work

I wasn't always a fan of black as a colour on 1275 GT's etc , but this Mk 2 'S looks the biz........

That looks to have plenty of potential. Nice holes though . I hope who ever buys it puts it back on the road. The shell although a little ventilated is probably worth restoring.

Hmmmm . . . . . . . bit of a 'bitsa' maybe . . . . ? Rear window is definitely Mk2 width (ie: about 2 inches wider than a Mk1) . . . . Mk1 rear lights grafted on? Instrument pod has four screws on its face so thats from a Mk1 . . . . . anyone else?
I know there were some late Mk1s which hung around dealerships well into 1968 and hence had G plates but 1969 . . . . . ?
Odd!

I'd say hybrid !
Preferred the Mk1 look so remortgaged and converted a Mk2 'S' to Mk1 !
Or just built from scratch, either way it's a smashin motor I'm sure but not genuine as the vendor is keen to describe it as !

| I think the rear window is Mk 1 size and there is at least one 'H' sufix Mk 1 S.
