Can't quite remember the story behind this , but I do love a barn find . I think the car was left for quite a number of years in a building that flooded every year somewhere in France. Anyone know the story ?

and here's the screen saver .....;)

How sad but what a find

That would make a great feature in the club mag. How long ago were these pics taken and what's happened to it since?

I know of 3 more genuine Mk1 S's close to me in that sort of condition but I think they'll end up rotting away to nothing as the owner is not interested in selling for any price :X:shock: I don't think they have recliners like this one though.

Maybe not the 'project of the month' but certainly a nice find! Will be very hard to restore but I have done similar projects - don't do it for the money. Interesting steering wheel by the way.

Tragic, but must have been quite a car in its time, lets hope someone is going to restore it to its former glory.  The steering wheel is pretty wowsa isnt it!

Yes it's an unusual steering wheel isn't it, straight out of the Batmobile.

There really should be a law against car abuse shouldn't there ? Never seen rot as severe as that in a front subframe !

Hi Pete,

That interior shot is priceless!

Here's my barn find:D

Seems it's compulsory to put the grille on the seat!

That subframe broke when they tried to drag it out with a rope I guess. It's do-able but I think an OEW 850 Mini is required.:D

WOW. I would take that car on in a minute. I suppose it's just what's it worth to you, and how far are you willing to go? I hope that car remained/remains together and complete, and an enthusiast with enough passion and paitance treats it right.

Anyone know this cars story?

Aww man.....I guess it's rotten, but I hope the seats were saved, frames at least.  Should have sold it to someone that would take it on. There are people out there that would. Some job's that are extreme to some, are much less to others.

There you go..send it to Mini4Ever...haha

I thought about that too, the re-shell thread. I think anyone would rather see this car swap shells, before being broken up for parts. Cool car with factory recliners.
