I am a relatively new member and was thinking about attending the AGM at Coventry transport museum on Sunday 9th March 2008. I live in Ireland, what is the agenda for the meeting and how long does it last. Worth attending? Cheers.

First a personal apology for not responding to your post.
AGM's are peculiar events but the Committee chose a fantastic venue for their AGM today. I was not quite sure about recommending a trip from Ireland but with hindsight, in my opinion, it would have been worth it.
I think the management of the museum have worked hard to provide interesting exhibits; I speak from experience as I have been going there for a number of years and each time the displays have been different.
The Agenda was distributed on the day and was made up of "officers' reports etc. The existing committee was reelected as the members present agreed that they had worked very hard to achieve the aims and objectives of the register so were re-elected to continue their good work on behalf of members.
I hope that you will be able to visit our National Mini Cooper Day at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, New Forest on Sunday 8th June as it will make a great holiday for you.

Many thanks for your kind reply. I had thought about flying over and attending the AGM but was slightly cautious when there was no replies to the message posted, but in second thoughts it may have been worth it to view the Coventry transport museum which appears to be excellent. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the National Mini day at Beaulieu as I am getting married the day before. My fiancee fully accepts my passion for the Mini World but to ask her to attend the day after our big day would be a little to much to expect. It is a event I have read alot about and admire which I hope to attend next year.
