"The weekend starts here", well that's what I remember hearing when I got home from work in 1966. I think it was a programme called Ready, Steady, Go but it's too warm to wear my anorak!
Anyway my main point is to let everyone know that Steve Smith and Mark Walker could be hairless by now, why not come along and see.
The weather forecast looks good, it's 20 years since the MCR first ventured into the grounds of Beaulieu and the National Motor Museum.
This year we celebrate and forget the football, at least they don't use Mini Coopers in the Top Gear football matches, don't worry about the Garnd Pricks, Button = Henman; but we can hope.
Let's see if we can get a record number of Mini Coopers at Beaulieu on Sunday.
Hope to see you there and don't forget the Scrapheap Challenge; Steve Burkinshaw, his friend Tom and the infamous Neil Burgess have created a "Slumberland Mini Cooper." Come and cheer them on.
It promises to be a fantastic day, see you there.

A personal view.
What a fantastic day! Thousands turned up. Those who didn't, missed a great day organised by Steve Smith & Mark Walker. What a team and what a band of willing helpers (you should see the organisation chart!) all kept hydrated in the hot weather by constant supply of liquids taken to each marshal position!
Fantastic concours competition. Good trade stands. Fantastic display of cars, good crowd, tasty birthday cake and sunny weather.
To cap it all the heros of the day were not Steve & Mark but Steve, Tom & Neil from the Herts & North London region who won the Scrapheap Challenge sofa speedway with their coachbuilt "Kingsize Coopers" bedstead. Then they took on the "All Stars" from the series and beat them. The new series of Scrapheap Challenge is due to be screened from September, as they say "watch press for details."
Thanks due to all members, honorary members, Mike Cooper, Mony Watkins and the Beaulieu team for making our 20th birthday bash a wonderful celebration. And last but not least the traders and other clubs. It was also good to see so many new MINIs arrive and take part. It was a shame that the were no Innocentis from our register on display.
The Register was formed to preserve the Mini Cooper name and 20 years later the Register is doing it with style.
As I started this message "A personal view."

Can I add my support to this.
It is the fist MCR Beaulieu event I have been to. It was a great day assisted by fabulous weather.
The event was well organised and offered a little for everyone in a laid back approach - well done !
